Sincerity and Significance of Intentions and all Actions, Apparent and Hidden

It was narrated from 'Umar bin Al-Khattab that the Prophet said:
"Actions are considered by the intentions, and a person will get the reward according to his intention.''

Dua for sincerity

O Allah, make my deeds righteous, make them purely for Your sake, and do not let anyone else have a share of them.

Ikhlaas is the foundation of our deen.

It is often translated as sincerity and refers to doing everything solely for the sake of Allah SWT.

Ikhlaas is when you don’t wish for someone other than Allah SWT to see or reward you for your actions.

Before we begin any action, we should rectify our intentions and only intend for the pleasure of Allah.

The stronger and purer the intention, the greater the reward will be.

A sincere intention can transform going over a lecture to an act of worship that weighs heavily on our scales of good on the day of judgement inshaAllah.

Being a means of help

(Quran, 5:32)

'Whoever saves one life - it is as if he had saved humanity'

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said:

"Whoever relieves a Muslim of a burden from the burdens of the world, Allah will relieve him of a burden from the burdens on the Day of Judgement. And whoever helps ease a difficulty in the world, Allah will grant him ease from a difficulty in the world and in the Hereafter. And whoever covers (the faults of) a Muslim, Allah will cover (his faults) for him in the world and the Hereafter. And Allah is engaged in helping the worshipper as long as the worshipper is engaged in helping his brother."

Having shukr and serving others with the blessings Allah SWT has bestowed upon us

Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

Take advantage of five before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your illness, your riches before your poverty, your free time before your work, and your life before your death.

A means of being good to our parents

(Surah al-Nisa’ 4:36)

Worship Allah, associate nothing with Him, and be good to your parents.

(Surah al-Isra’ 17:23)

Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and be good to your parents.

(Surah Luqman 31:14,15)

We enjoined upon humanity to be good to his parents. His mother carried him in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents, for unto Me is the final destination. If they strive to make you associate with Me that for which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but still accompany in the world with good conduct.
